Count UFC commentator Joe Rogan among those upset over Wanderlei Silva’s life ban handed down by the Nevada Athletic Commission on Tuesday. Along with the prohibition, Silva was fined $70,000 (35 percent of his purse) for evading a random drug test in Las Vegas prior to a scheduled bout with Chael Sonnen at UFC 175.
“I only believe the fee is far on the very best,” Rogan described Wednesday. “It is something in the event you’d like to inform the man he is suspended for a year. Fake like you caught him for using steroids. If he got caught and it was his first time being caught it will be a nine month suspension. Rather than doing they forbid him from fighting to get a f**king life. An entire life. He can not be 80 and apply for a permit for running from one drug test. I believe that is silly.”
