UFC 178 fight card: What Is at stake?

When a card is correctly stacked with enough significant battles by name combatants, blemishes disappear. They are still there, obviously, however they take on an infinitely more favorable complexion.

The key event is an ideal example. Here is the replacement to Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier (and Alexander Gustafsson before that), which is to say it is no replacement at all (in equity, not much is). However, using the people’s guy occasion being Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier and the remainder of the card offering every type of fight fan something to whet their appetite, the primary event transforms from an underwhelming anchorman to non-outrage bonus offering.

If this can be the ending, Wanderlei Silva leaves the sport having a complex legacy

Few combatants in history will find yourself having as complicated a heritage as Wanderlei Cesar da Silva, who announced his retirement on Friday in a videotaped interview that came across a nasty assault in the UFC and, four days after, may have close the door on a return.

The Nevada Athletic Commission’s indefinite suspension of Silva, that was outright categorized he would never be permitted to be licensed in the state again, looks to have been an administrative ending to his career, at least in the UFC, and probably America.
