Morning Report: Anderson Silva considers PED drug users "should have no more fights"

Former UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva knows a thing or two about cheaters.

The guy spent almost half his UFC career fighting competitors who’d neglected some type of screening for performance enhancing drugs in their career. Throughout his historical 16-0 UFC run from 2006 to 2012, Silva conquered four distinct guys who’d later fail their post-fight test.

Anderson Silva: "When I realized my leg was broken, I thought my career was over"

Less than 10 months after his title bid against Chris Weidman ended in a ghastly scene, former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva sat perched upon a stage on a Tuesday afternoon in Rio de Janeiro, his tortured screams and mangled leg replaced by a seemingly endless cascade of easy smiles and even a sampling of his best Whitney Houston falsetto.

The memories of that night at UFC 168 will always linger for Silva, when a checked leg kick led to the shattering of his left fibula and tibia — as gruesome an end to a celebrated dynasty as could be written — but for now Silva’s story continues. With surgery and rehabilitation nearly behind him, the 39-year-old intends to return in early 2015, fighting in a blockbuster fight against Stockton’s favorite son, Nick Diaz.

Tim Kennedy faces Yoel Romero backstage after UFC 178

UFC middleweight Tim Kennedy had words for his UFC 178 competition Yoel Romero after their fight on Saturday night. Romero won the competition by quitting Kennedy with strikes in the 3rd round, but the fight had a contentious ‘stoppage’ between the 2nd and third round. While the call for ‘seconds outside’ was given prior to the start of the third and final round, Romero and his corner continued to remain with Romero sitting on his stool. This took place for almost 30 additional seconds, giving Romero time to recuperate when he was practically ended with strikes by the end of the next round.

In a Vine that is surfaced, Kennedy tells Romero that if your combatant struggles to start the round on time for some reason, he/she is likely to lose via TKO.
