TSN looks to be the new home for UFC programming in Canada

While no announcement has been made yet, The Sports Network (TSN) in Canada sent out schedule revisions for January to television listings services on Friday which included extensive UFC coverage.

TSN, the country’s equivalent to ESPN, was the leading candidate to get the UFC contract, which had been held by Sportsnet, a rival sports network run by Rogers Cable, since the sport’s popularity explosion.

UFC officials would not confirm the deal at this time.

Complete UFC on FOX 14 card announced

The entire UFC on FOX 14 main card was officially announced on Wednesday.

The event, which will be headlined by Alexander Gustafsson vs. Anthony Johnson, will take place at the 30,000-seat Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on Jan. 24. If all goes to plan, it will be the second-biggest event in UFC history behind 2011’s UFC 129, which drew 55,724 fans.

A two-time Bellator champion, Curran (20-6) forfeited his belt for a second time this past Sept. when he dropped a unanimous decision to Patricio Freire in a rematch of the pair’s 2013 meeting. However, what exactly does this mean for the MMA clothing market? Is this transfer a death blow for supervisors or representatives? Does this help Bellator by giving their combatants an opportunity to advertise or damage them, also, by bringing down all sponsorship opportunities across the board? Above all, is this reasonable to the combatants?

UFC bantamweight Michinori Tanaka has been issued a nine-month suspension after testing positive for two banned materials in a pre-fight urine evaluation before his split decision loss against Kyung Ho Kang at UFC Fight Night 52, promotion officials declared on Tuesday.

Tanaka, 24, tested positive for ephedrine and pseudoephedrine, each of which are stimulants usually seen in over the counter medicine but are prohibited by World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) guidelines.

2015 UFC schedule released

The 2015 UFC schedule was released by UFC officials during their “Time is Now” press conference in Las Vegas on Monday.

There will be 45 total events. There will be 13 pay-per-view events, four events on UFC on FOX, 18 events on FOX Sports 1, and 10 events on UFC Fight Pass.

The UFC calendar will kick off with UFC 182 where Jon Jones will defend his light heavyweight title against Daniel Cormier on Jan. 3 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
