Bellator light heavyweight Joe Vedepo was detained this past Friday day after supposedly hospitalizing an Iowa City police officer within a drunken altercation outside of a sports bar.
According to your report from KCRG, policemen reacted around 2:22 p.m. to a call from Sports Column suggesting that Vedepo, 31, was intoxicated and refused to leave the premises. Vedepo allegedly told officers that he “understood his rights” and resisted law attempts as he tried to reenter the pub, ultimately head-shoving one policeman in the chest, sending him to the hospital with back injuries.

Former mixed martial arts fighter Jason “Mayhem” Miller was arrested on Thursday by members of the Orange Country Sheriff’s Department following a three-hour standoff with police, of which Miller live-tweeted throughout.
Miller (28-9, 1 NC), who last fought in May 2012 at UFC 146, had an outstanding felony arrest warrant on three counts of alleged domestic violence, stalking, and violation of a court order, which led to the standoff. UFC welterweight Nick Diaz was arrested in California on September 6 on charges of suspicion of DUI, obstructing a police officer, destruction of signs and driving with a suspended permit, MMAFighting.com affirmed on Friday following a preliminary report from the Lodi News-Sentinel.
Diaz was detained at 2:20 a.m. by Corporal Eric Bradley while driving down the 600 block of East Pine Street, according to Sergeant Steve Maynard of the Lodi Police Department. Diaz was later processed at Lodi City Jail.
